AKOFRUITS™ Ecosystem: From family heritage to global standards

Behind every great enterprise lies a personal story…

AKOFRUITS™ is a family-owned business whose foundations have been built over decades. Our journey began over 40 years ago in the fruit trade, evolving into three decades of successful expertise in the food industry. This extensive background taught us one fundamental truth: an uncompromising vision of what makes a product truly perfect.

In 2019, we chose to apply this expertise directly at the source—the land itself—by launching a large-scale agro-industrial project. Thus, the AKOFRUITS™ brand was born.

An Inside Look

The Geography of Unique Terroirs

Shabran

Today, our orchards span approximately 500 hectares across three distinct climatic zones in Azerbaijan. This strategic diversity allows us to match every crop with its absolute natural ideal. In our Shabran orchards, the foothills of the Greater Caucasus meet the gentle breeze of the Caspian Sea. This unique, sea-tempered microclimate creates flawless conditions for the delicate ripening of sweet cherries and stone fruit.

Guba

The orchards in the Guba region are renowned for their pristine mountain air and sharp contrasts between day and night temperatures. Historically, this is Azerbaijan’s premier land for pome fruit: it is here that apples and pears develop their signature crisp crunch, dense texture, and rich, vibrant blush.

Agsu

The warm climate of Agsu, nestled on the southern mountain slopes, is defined by an abundance of sunny days. In this environment, sun-loving crops like pomegranates and persimmons flawlessly develop their natural sweetness. Through this geographical diversity, we do more than just cultivate premium varieties. We unlock their ultimate flavor potential in conditions designed for them by nature itself, transforming these lands into a true benchmark of intensive horticulture.

A Bond of Generations: from experience to our own land

Every hectare of our orchards is a continuation of our family story. Here, a father’s classic commercial expertise and intuition seamlessly merge with a son’s energy and innovative vision.

We realized that the true value of a product is born only through direct contact with the land. Therefore, we entered the world of horticulture not merely with advanced technologies, but with a philosophy of mindful creation. We tend to our orchards exactly as we care for our own family—with dedication, responsibility, and a deep desire to leave behind something of genuine, lasting value.

Intelligent Farming and Absolute Control

We leave nothing to chance. AKOFRUITS represents a seamless symbiosis of nature and cutting-edge technology. Every process in our orchards is digitized and continuously monitored by the Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI).

High-precision weather stations and field sensors analyze the microclimate around the clock, guiding our fertigation and tree care operations. The vast array of collected data is integrated into our proprietary, in-house developed ERP system, granting us 100% traceability at every stage. We know the exact history of every single fruit, guaranteeing benchmark quality, absolute food safety, and full compliance with the strictest international standards.

Agro-laboratory

Integrated Pest Management (IPM) and Biological Control

We firmly believe that truly great fruit can only grow in a healthy ecosystem. That is why AKOFRUITS keeps chemical treatments to a minimum and gives priority to Integrated Pest Management (IPM) protocols.

At the core of our approach is our own agro-laboratory. Here we create natural defences for our orchards: we produce high-quality biohumus, cultivate beneficial bacterial strains and breed beneficial predators — entomophages and acariphages.

Releasing predatory mites such as Amblyseius andersoni and Neoseiulus californicus lets us keep pest populations in check naturally, by biological means. This is more than crop protection — it is our firm commitment to the environment and to consumer health.

Certified Safety. Uncompromising Standards.

The trust of our international partners is built on a systematic approach. At AKOFRUITS, crop safety is not just checked at the end of the production cycle — it is controlled at every single step.

Our fruit harvesting and storage operations are certified to the international ISO 22000:2018 standard, and we align our work closely with both local and global food safety requirements. For our partners, this means systematic risk control, full traceability and confidence that every fruit leaving our facilities meets the highest international criteria.

Today, we are taking it a step further: the company is in the final stages of implementing GLOBALG.A.P. standards.
